Amana Pipeline Construction also has formulated exclusive business cooperation agreements with Kelo & Company Limited of the United Kingdom and Hansaconsult Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH of Germany in respect to areas of aviation design which enables the company to offer a “one stop shop” solution to Aviation Fuel Staging, Storage & Distribution facilities from Front-End Design through procurement & construction to Commissioning and hand over to the client.
SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES
Amana Pipeline Construction targets three distinct sectors that include Aviation, District Cooling and Oil & Gas. The company also has a tank construction subsidiary Amana Tanks which specializes in the building of storage tanks for the Aviation, District Cooling and Oil & Gas industry and which compliments the core activities of its parent.
Amana Pipeline Construction specializes in the Design, Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning (EPCC) of Commercial & Military Aviation Fuel Systems (Staging Facilities, Fuel Farms and Tankage for Refined Product Storage) in addition to Jet A1 Fuel Hydrant and Refueling Systems. Associated works also include dedicated tie ins and hot tapping works to link existing fuel hydrant refueling systems to newly constructed refueling amenities involving highly specialised skills and procedures in operational airports. The company’s highly trained and experienced personnel are fully conversant with working in these environments and our HSE procedures comply in full with International Standards and Regulations.
Amana Pipeline Construction coupled with the civil expertise of the Amana Group who engages in the construction of Central Plants are capable of giving a “one stop shop” solution to the District Cooling developers and operators in the GCC region. Amana Pipeline Construction LLC with its inhouse district cooling pipeline specialists is capable of constructing distribution piping systems up to and including the Energy Transfer Stations (ETS).
THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE
Thermal Energy Storage (TES) has long been used to reduce operating energy costs associated with on-peak electricity and demand charges. The process is also commonly employed in new construction and at times of retrofit expansions or chiller replacements. By sizing chiller plants for average (rather than peak) cooling loads, TES often results in capital cost savings in addition to reducing operating energy costs. Twenty-first century energy users will obtain even greater benefits from the flexibility that TES provides to manage peak power in future energy markets.
Amana Pipeline Construction has entered into the engineering design and construction of such Thermal Energy Storage (TES) which provide peak load management (and often, substantial capital cost savings) for large air-conditioning or process cooling applications, for a wide range of Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Government facilities. In this regard the company has entered into Commercial Agreements with John Andrepont who is the founder and president of The Cool Solutions Company, who in turn, provides professional services in support of the technical and commercial development of Thermal Energy Storage (TES), District Cooling (DC), and Turbine Inlet Cooling (TIC) applications. John has been involved in the development of over 100 (TES) projects and more than a dozen District Energy (DC) systems, as well as large and small (TIC) projects, on five continents.
He is an active member of:
- ASHRAE, serving on its technical committees for Thermal Storage, District Energy, and Cogeneration Systems, and on the subcommittee for Combustion Turbine Inlet Cooling
- IDEA (International District Energy Association), having served as a Director for 5 years and as Technical Chair of 3 Cooling Conferences
- TICA (Turbine Inlet Cooling Association), serving as a Director and past-Chair
- John graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering. He is the inventor of over a dozen U.S. patents.
OIL & GAS
Amana Pipeline Construction coupled with its in-house specialized personnel and the logistical, manpower and plant support of the Amana Group can tackle any specialized Oil & Gas project including pipelines, shutdowns, hot tapping and diversions and any form of industrial facility.
The company is also actively involved in the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) of Fixed and Floating Roof oil storage tanks in addition to Aviation fuel, Refined Product, Firewater and Water Storage tanks in Fuel Farms and Bulk Storage Facilities.
The company has established a market reputation for superlative tank design and construction whilst meeting the stringent Quality, Safety and Schedule requirements of the client. The experience gained from our various project sites has allowed the company to provide better customised solutions to service the actual needs of our clients. Fit for purpose designs take into consideration not only the unique environmental conditions of the locations but also the specific product to be stored. The lessons learnt are once again fed back into the system so that future projects, benefit from our company motto “Local Solutions through Regional Knowledge”.
We are currently involved in the construction of various fuel storage tanks at several military bases for the GHQ UAE Armed Forces at undisclosed locations across the UAE and we are currently involved in the construction of several Thermal Energy Storage (TES) Tanks for District Cooling Chilled Water Plants adding to the diversity and the capability of the company in tank construction.
